CHICAGO – Following a breakout weekend at the plate, Maryland freshman Maxwell Costes has been named the Big Ten Player and Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
Costes helped the Terps sweep Maine, batting .444 with six RBIs and three doubles while reaching base eight total times. He became the first freshman to record four RBIs in a game since his brother Marty achieved the feat in 2016.
