COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The second-ranked Maryland women's lacrosse team will host No. 7 Michigan in a clash of two of the three remaining unbeaten teams in women's lacrosse on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. The game will air live on the Big Ten Network with Mark Dixon and Sheehan Stanwick Burch on the call.
HOW WE GOT HERE
• Head coach Cathy Reese became the all-time winningest women's lacrosse coach at the University of Maryland as the No. 2 Terps (13-0) handled No. 8 Virginia, 16-6 on Wednesday night.
• A season-best 13 different players scored goals as the No. 2 Maryland women's lacrosse team routed Rutgers, 20-3 lastt Saturday afternoon. Junior Brindi Griffin led Maryland, tying a career-high with four goals to lead the way for the 13 different goal scorers.
• Five points apiece from senior Jen Giles and junior Kali Hartshorn, and 14 saves on a .667 percentage from senior Megan Taylor led the No. 2 Maryland women's lacrosse team (11-0) to a convincing 15-7 win over No. 14 Princeton last Wednesday night.
SENIOR DAY
• Maryland will honor their outstanding senior class before Saturday's game: Julia Braig, Kelsey Cummings, Marissa Donoghue, Erica Evans, Jen Giles, Katherine Golladay, Shelby Mercer, Meghan Siverson Caroline Steele and Megan Taylor.
• The seniors have helped compile a remarkable 78-3 record so far in their careers, including an undefeated 42-0 record in home games. The 2019 class has never lost a B1G game, winning the regular season and tournament titles in each season and they have competed in three straight NCAA Final Fours.
MEET THE TERPS
• The Terps are led by the midfield corps of senior Jen Giles, transfer Erica Evans and sophomore Grace Griffin. Giles leads the Terps with 36 goals, 16 assists, 52 points and 20 groundballs. Evans and Griffin are third and fifth on the team with 34 and 31 points apiece. Evans has 25 goals and nine assists while Griffin has 24 goals, seven assists and is second on the team with 10 caused turnovers.
• Maryland is once again backlined by junior Megan Taylor, who has had an incredible start to 2019, leading the country with a .604 save percentage at 122 saves to 80 goals allowed. Taylor was named the B1G Defensive Player of the Week in each of the past five weeks and earned two IWLCA National Player of the Week honors.
• The attack is spearheaded by junior Kali Hartshorn and senior Caroline Steele. Hartshorn is second on the team in both points (41) and goals (31) and leads the team with 78 draw controls. Steele leads the team with 3.22 goals per game and had the game winner in overtime against No. 3 North Carolina.
• Senior Julia Braig and junior Lizzie Colson guide the Maryland defense. Braig leads the Terps with 11 caused turnovers while Colson leads Maryland with 22 groundballs and is second on Maryland with 62 draw controls and 10caused turnovers.

REESE APPROACHING ALL-TIME WINS MARK
• In Wednesday's 16-6 win at No. 8 Virginia, head coach Cathy Reese became the program's all-time winningest coach, breaking her former college coach and eight-time National Champion, Cindy Timchal's record.
• Reese, in her 13th season at the helm of the program is now 261-21 as the head coach of Maryland and has won four National Championships.
MARYLAND DAIRY INTRODUCES CATHY REESE'S VICTORY SWIRL
• The Maryland Dairy, located in the Stamp Student Union has made an ice cream for head coach Cathy Reese, "Cathy Reese's Victory Swirl" and will have samples at the game vs. Michigan and debut it in their shop on Monday, April 8.
• The ice cream, which Reese picked out herself, includes vanilla ice cream, reeses peanut butter cups, reeses pieces and a chocolate fudge swirl.
AWARD TIME FOR MEGAN TAYLOR
• Senior Megan Taylor has won a handful of awards over the past weeks, garnering Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors in each of the past five weeks and IWLCA National Player of the Week honors on March 13 and 20.
• Taylor now leads the NCAA with a .604 save percentage, having saved 122 shots to only allowing 80 goals. The senior also leads the Big Ten in goals against average and has the third best mark in the country at 7.20 goals. Taylor and Maryland have the second best scoring defense in the country, only allowing 6.69 goals per game.
• Over the five week time frame, Taylor has recorded a .636 save percentage at 89 saves and only 51 goals allowed. Taylor's streak of winning the award is the longest by any Maryland player since the Terps joined the conference in 2015.
• With her 600th career save a few weeks back against Ohio State, Taylor is also the current NCAA save leader, having the most in her career of any goalkeeper in the country.
SEVEN TERPS ON TEWAARATON WATCH LIST
• Seven members of the No. 2 Maryland women's lacrosse team, the most in the country, were named to the initial Tewaaraton Watch List, as announced by the Tewaaraton Foundation.
• Graduate midfielder Erica Evans, four seniors: Julia Braig, Jen Giles, Caroline Steele and Megan Taylor and junior defender Lizzie Colson were all selected for the watch list. Last week, Kali Hartshorn was added to the list.
• The Terps have the most players in the country named to the watch list. Each Terp named to the list was selected as a preseason All-American by Inside Lacrosse, while Braig, Giles and Taylor were named Maryland's Big Ten Players to Watch.
• Taylor has now been selected for the Tewaaraton Watch List in three straight seasons. It's the second appearance for Braig, Evans, Giles and Steele, while Colson and Hartshorn makes an appearance on the watch list for the first time. Last season, both Braig and Taylor were named one of 25 Tewaaraton nominees.
SCOUTING THE WOLVERINES
• No. 7 Michigan is one of three undefeated teams remaining in women's lacrosse, joining Maryland and Boston College. The Wolverines are 3-0 in Big Ten play with wins over Penn State, Ohio State and Johns Hopkins.
• Maryland is 4-0 all-time against Michigan.
• Last year, Brindi Griffin and Megan Whittle each recorded five points and Lizzie Colson tallied a career-best seven draw controls to lead Maryland to a 16-9 win over Michigan. Maryland won the draw control battle 17-10, led by a career-best seven from Colson. Sophomore midfielder Kali Hartshorn had five while Whittle had three.
