Thursday's matchup is the 11th all-time between Maryland and Illinois (10-8, 1-6). The Terps have won all 10 previous meetings. Last year, they won both matchups - 80-66 in Champaign on Feb. 4 and 71-62 in College Park on March 2. The Terps are 3-0 at State Farm Arena.

Last time out, the Terrapins beat No. 17/24 Indiana, 76-62, Monday night in College Park. The Terrapins dominated the second quarter, 18-6 and the third quarter, 23-16.
Shakira Austin scored 14 straight points to start the third quarter and finished with 22.
Taylor Mikesell went 4-for-5 from outside the arc for 16 points.

The Terrapins are No. 3 in the country in steals (13.4) and fourth in scoring margin (+25.3). They are in the top 10 in the nation in turnover margin (+8.2) and in scoring (81.6). Their scoring defense (56.3) is the best at Maryland since the 1996-97 season.
Blair Watson is second in the league and 15th in the nation in steals (3.1).
