#10 Terrapins Set for Matchup with #17 Hawkeyes

COLLEGE PARK, Md. –  No. 10 Maryland is set for a top-20 matchup with No. 20 Iowa Thursday at 6 p.m. at the XFINITY Center. The Terps (20-4, 11-2 B1G) and the Hawkeyes (20-4, 11-2) are currently tied for first place in the Big Ten standings.

Thursday's game is Kaila Charles bobblehead night, where 400 lucky fans will win a Kaila Charles bobblehead.
 
The Terps-Hawkeyes game will be televised on the Big Ten Network. Fans can watch at FoxSports.com or the Fox Sports app using their cable login information.
 
The Maryland-Iowa matchup will also be broadcast on the Maryland Sports Radio Network. Fans can listen in here or at 1300 AM (Baltimore), The Team 980 (DC) and WARK 1490 (Hagerstown).
 
Thursday's matchup is the 11th all-time between Maryland and Iowa. Maryland owns the series, 6-4, but the Hawkeyes have won three straight matchups dating back to last year. Earlier this year, Iowa won 66-61 on Jan. 9.  The Terps are 3-0 vs. the Hawkeyes at the XFINITY Center.
 
Last time out, the Terrapins controlled Rutgers from the tip to win their ninth straight, 79-50. Kaila Charles led the way with 16 points. Ashley Owusu and Stephanie Jones each scored 14 points and Shakira Austin added 12. Maryland went 25-29 from the free throw line.
 
Maryland reached the 20-win mark for the 16th straight season. Maryland also reached 100 wins in the Big Ten since joining the league in 2014-15. That also includes the Terps' 13 wins in the Big Ten Tournament.
 
Kaila Charles currently has 1,886 career points and 886 career rebounds. She recently passed Shay Doron to move to No. 8 on Maryland's all-time list. Blair Watson recently passed Shatori Walker-Kimbrough with 187 career threes made and is No. 3 on Maryland's all-time list. Shakira Austin is at 478 career rebounds.
 
Charles has started in all 127 games of her career. Charles has a chance to break Alyssa Thomas' record of 135 career games started. Charles' 127 career games started are fifth in Maryland's record book. Stephanie Jones has played in 126 career games.
 
Charles was named to a Cheryl Miller Award Finalist on Feb. 12, to the Citizen Naismith Trophy Mideseason List Feb. 11, the Wooden Award Midseason List Feb. 3 and a Senior CLASS Award finalist on Feb. 5. Blair Watson was named to the Naismith Womens Defensive Player of the Year midseason watch list on Jan. 23.
 
The Terps have won nine straight games, dating back to Jan. 12.
 
Next, the Terrapins will hit the road to play at Penn State (7-17, 1-12) Sunday at 2 p.m. in State College, Pa. The Terps-Lady Lions game will be streamed online through BTN Plus.
