COLLEGE PARK, Md. – No. 7 Maryland (24-4, 15-2 B1G) will close the regular season with a 4 p.m. ET matchup Sunday at Minnesota. The Terps and the Gophers (15-13, 5-12) will tip off on ESPN2 from Williams Arena.

Maryland is currently tied with Northwestern for the top spot in the Big Ten. Both the Terrapins and the Wildcats own a record of 15-2 in conference play with one game to play. With a win Sunday, the Terps can clinch at least a share of their fifth Big Ten regular season title in their six years in the league.
Maryland has won 13 straight games since Jan. 12. The Terrapins have 11 wins over RPI top 50 teams and six over teams ranked in the AP Top 25. In the win streak, the Terps are winning by an average margin of victory of +25.5.
Last time out, Maryland thrashed Purdue, 88-45, Thursday in College Park. Stephanie Jones led the way with 18 points and nine boards. Shakira Austin added 17 points with 13 rebounds, Kaila Charles added 14 points and Diamond Miller scored 12. Sara Vujacic added 10.
The Terrapins own the series over Minnesota at 8-1. Last year, the Terrapins went on a 9-0 run with 50 seconds to play to take a 71-69 win in College Park on Feb. 21. Charles scored six of the nine points, including the tying and winning buckets.
Brenda Frese was the head coach at Minnesota for the 2001-02 season and coached Gopher head coach Lindsay Whalen. Frese led the Gophers to a record of 22-8 and an NCAA Tournament berth before being named AP National Coach of the Year.
The trio of Charles, Jones and Blair Watson have earned a record of 110-20 (.846) in their four-year careers. They helped win the 2017 Big Ten regular season and tournament titles and the 2019 Big Ten regular season title. They have made three straight NCAA Tournament appearances to date and advanced to the 2017 Sweet Sixteen. Vujacic, a junior college transfer, has been a part of 53 wins.
The Terrapins are in the top five in the country in steals (12.6), scoring margin (+25.9), scoring (83.1) and in the assists (18.1) and turnover margin (+7.7). Blair Watson is second in the league and 17th in the nation in steals (2.9). More stat rankings on page 7.
Charles currently has 1,948 career points and 914 career rebounds. She recently moved to No. 6 on Maryland's scoring list. Watson is No. 3 on Maryland's all-time three-pointers list with 190 made in her career. Mikesell's career three-point field goal percentage of 41.4 percent is No. 2 in program history.
