What's UP
- Maryland dominated Illinois from the tip Wednesday en route to a 103-58 win. The Terrapins forced seven straight Illini turnovers to start the game. Katie Benzan hit six threes to lead the Terps with 22 points. Chloe Bibby added 20 with 9 boards and Ashley Owusu scored 17 with 7 assists and 6 rebounds.
- Owusu was named to the Big Ten Player of the Week Honor Roll for the fourth time this season after scoring 25 points with 7 assists and 7 boards.
- The Terrapins are averaging 92.4 points per game through 16 games, which is leading the country. The NCAA D1 scoring record is 96.7 points per game by Providence in 1991. Maryland's team scoring record was 89.6 points per game by the 1977-78 team. No other team in program history averaged over 90 points per game.
- In the Feb. 15 NCAA Reveal, the Terps were the No. 7 overall seed and a No. 2 seed. The Terrapins have three wins over ranked teams this season - 115-96 over No. 14 Arkansas, 84-80 over No. 19 Indiana and 93-87 over No. 23 Michigan State. Maryland also has 6 Quad-1 wins, 2 Quad-2 wins and its only two losses are Quad-1 losses, both to teams in top 25 of NET & AP rankings.

50 seasons of excellence
- The University of Maryland women's basketball program will celebrate its 50th varsity season in 2020-21, and will honor the program's rich tradition and history throughout the year. Maryland played its first full varsity season in 1971-72, under the leadership of pioneer Dottie McKnight. During its storied history, the program has won 1,044Â games, amassed 43 winning seasons, won 22 conference championships, made 37 postseason appearances and captured the 2006 National Championship

- Head coach Brenda Frese is in her 19th season in College Park. She's led the Terrapins to a record of 501-130 (.794), 12 conference titles, 15 NCAA Tournament appearances in 17 postseasons, three Final Fours, six Elite Eights, six Sweet Sixteens and the 2006 NCAA Championship.Â
- With the Terrapins' win at Nebraska Sunday, Brenda Frese picked up win No. 500 at Maryland, which makes her the winningest coach in Maryland basketball history. Hall of Fame women's basketball head coach Chris Weller won 499 games in her 27 seasons (1975-02).

SERIES HISTORY
- The Terps own the series over Minnesota, 10-1, and have won three straight in the series.
- Maryland won the first meeting this season, 90-73, in Minneapolis on Jan. 23.
- Brenda Frese was the head coach at Minnesota for the 2001-02 season and coached current Gopher head coach Lindsay Whalen. Frese led the Gophers to a record of 22-8 overall, 11-5 in Big Ten play and an NCAA Tournament berth. She was named AP National Coach of the Year in April 2002.
