NEW YORK, NY – The Maryland squad rounded out day two of competition at the Dr. Sanders Invite hosted at the New York Armory Track. On day two of competition, the Terps started to heat up, delivering strong performances both on the track and in the field. Graduate Student Angel Nkwonta earned a second place result in the women's weight throw and Senior Kaithon McDonald was victorious in the men's high jump.

Women's Notes

Graduate Student Angel Nkwonta earned a second place result in the weight throw, throwing to a mark of 20.29m. Nkwonta holds the program record of 21.69m in the event, which she set earlier this season at the Kentucky Rod McCravy Invite. Nkwonta doubled up for the Terps, as she later competed in the women's shot put invitational, in which she threw to a mark of 15.27m. Nkwonta also holds the program record in the women's shot put.

Graduate Student Alice Barnsdale (18.48) earned a top ten finish in the weight throw. Kamryn Henderson and Sarah George also competed in the event for the Terps squad.

Senior Chelsey Cole competed in the triple jump, jumping to a mark of 12.34m, earning a fifth place result in the event.

Freshman Katie Altieri raced to a personal record time of 9:45.74 in the 3000m. Her time is the eighth fastest in Terrapins history in the 3000m.

Sophomore Kirstin Nichols (10:28.61) set a new personal record in the 3000m. Katie Turk (10:13.32) also had a strong performance in her 3000m debut with a personal best.

Freshman Emma Pegg (2:14.51) set an indoor season best in the 800m, racing to a sixth place finish. Kami Joi Hickson (2:14.98) and Mackenzie Morgan (2:15.15) also raced to top ten finishes in the 800m.

Sophomore Madison Depry competed in the high jump, clearing 1.70m.

Jaida Smith competed in the 200m for the Terps squad, sprinting to a time of 25.04s.

Allison Colflesh raced to a collegiate best of 5:02.57 in the mile. Christine Laurie (4:56.95) and Sophia Zell (5:09.63) also recorded strong performances competing in the mile.
Men's Notes

Senior Kaithon McDonald claimed victory in the high jump, as he cleared 2.15m. His mark is the tenth best in Terrapins history in the high jump.

Senior Maxwell Myers (1:54.40) competed for the Terps in the 800m. He holds the seventh fastest time in Terrapins history in the event (1:52.67).

"Each week we are continuing to see the group put top marks on the board. This is the type of competitiveness we want to see every time we go out to compete.
