COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Maryland women's basketball team (21-8) earned a No. 4 seed in the NCAA Women's Basketball Championship and will host the First and Second Rounds this weekend at the XFINITY Center.

The Terrapins, who are in the Spokane Region, will face 13
th-seeded Delaware (24-7) in the NCAA First Round Friday at 5 p.m.
 The winner of Friday's game will advance to face the winner of a matchup between No. 5-seeded Virginia Tech (23-9) and No. 12-seeded Florida Gulf Coast (29-2) Sunday. The Virginia Tech/FGCU game will be played at 2:30 p.m., on Friday. Friday's games will air on ESPNU.Â

Maryland has earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament in each of the last 12 seasons, but the 2020 NCAA Tournament was canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Terrapins have earned a top-four seed 21 times in their 29 NCAA Tournament appearances and 14 times in head coach

 Maryland Athletics lifted the indoor mask mandate earlier this month. Fans attending the First and Second Rounds will not be required to wear masks or show proof of vaccination. Individuals who are unvaccinated, are immunocompromised and have chronic health conditions placing them at higher risk of severe illness and complications from COVID-19 are advised to continue to wear a mask in all settings.
