COLLEGE PARK, MD -- The Maryland women's basketball team released its non-conference slate for the 2022-23 season Tuesday. The Terrapins will face two of last year's Final Four teams and play one of the toughest schedules in the country.

The Terrapins' out of conference schedule is highlighted by home matchups with defending national champion South Carolina and Connecticut, as well as road trips to Baylor and Notre Dame.Â

The Terps will open the season on the road with a matchup at George Mason on Monday, Nov. 7.
Then, the Terrapins will return home for three straight games. They will host the Gamecocks at the XFINITY Center on Friday, Nov. 11, then will welcome Fordham on Sunday, Nov. 13. Maryland will take on Davidson in the annual Field Trip Day game on Wednesday, Nov. 16.

The Terrapins will travel to Baylor for a top-10 matchup on Sunday, Nov. 20. Then, they will head to the Sunshine State to play three games in the Fort Myers Tip-Off in Fort Myers, Fla. Maryland will play three games Nov. 25-27 in the event. Matchups and game times will be announced at a later date.

The Terps will travel to South Bend, Ind., the hometown of freshman Mila Reynolds, to take on Notre Dame in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge on Thursday, Dec. 1.Â

The Terrapins will return home to host Connecticut in College Park on Sunday, Dec. 11. The Terrapins sold out the XFINITY Center the last time the Huskies came to town, back in Dec. 2016.Â

Maryland will close out non-conference play with a matchup at Purdue Fort Wayne on Wednesday, Dec. 21. Sophomore Shyanne Sellers' sister, Shayla Sellers, plays for the Mastodons.Â
The Terrapins will host Frostburg State (Fri, Oct. 28) and Millersville (Wed, Nov. 2) in a pair of exhibition matchups.

Maryland returns All-Big Ten honoree and 2021 Big Ten Tournament MVP, Diamond Miller, as well as Big Ten Sixth Player of the Year Shyanne Sellers.Â
Two-time National Coach of the Year Brenda Frese will bring in eight new players next season, including AP Honorable Mention All-American honoree Abby Meyers (Princeton), All-SEC transfer Lavender Briggs (Florida), All-AAC transfer Elisa Pinzan (USF), SEC graduate transfer Brinae Alexander (Vanderbilt) and All-CAA transfer Allie Kubek (Towson). Earlier this spring, Frese also signed two top-55 incoming freshmen in Gia Cooke and Brianna McDaniel. Incoming freshman Ava Sciolla and Mila Reynolds signed with Maryland in November, giving the Terrapins a top 10 recruiting class for the 15th time under Frese.
