SPRINGFIELD, MA --  Sophomore Shyanne Sellers of the eighth-ranked Maryland women's basketball team is one of 10 top small forwards in the nation named to the Cheryl Miller Award Midseason Top 10 Watch List. The Cheryl Miller Award is presented to the nation's top small forward.
 
Sellers is averaging 14.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.7 steals per game in her second season. She has improved her scoring by more than 7.0 points per game from her freshman campaign. Sellers has helped the Terps to four wins over top-25 teams.
 
Sellers has scored in double figures in 19 of 22 games this year and had a double-double at Nebraska with 20 points and 11 rebounds. She was named Big Ten Player of the Week on Jan. 23.

In March, five finalists will be presented to Cheryl Miller and the Hall of Fame's selection committee. The Selection Committee for the Cheryl Miller Award is composed of top women's college basketball personnel including media members, head coaches, sports information directors and Hall of Famers.
 
The winner of the 2023 Cheryl Miller Award will be presented on a to be determined date, along with the four other members of the Women's Starting Five. Additional awards being presented include the Nancy Lieberman Award (Point Guard), Ann Meyers Drysdale Award (Shooting Guard), the Katrina McClain Award (Power Forward) and the Lisa Leslie Award (Center), in addition to the Men's Starting Five.
