Mary Brumfield wrapped up their first competition of their fall slate at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic on Sunday, with Brumfield taking home the Milwaukee Tennis Classic Sportsmanship Award.

"Great weekend for Mary and Selma in Milwaukee, Mary played some of the best tennis she's played since she's been at Maryland and Selma had three great wins and is in a great position heading into All-Amercians next weekend," Head Coach
Katie Dougherty said. "This was a great tournament for them playing top competition and I'm very pleased with where they are at this point in the fall."

"Mary winning the sportsmanship award is a testament to who she is on and off the court. She competes extremely hard but is also fair and classy. So pleased to have her recognized," Coach Dougherty said.

Cadar was strong in singles competition, going 3-1. Brumfield battled in her singles matches, going 2-2.

Cadar and Brumfield came into the fall season ranked 38th in ITA's preseason doubles rankings.

The pair split their doubles matches going 1-1.
