Each week during the 2024-25 season a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the playing field, will be selected as the Solomon Eye Physicians & Surgeons Terp of the Week.

This week's Terp of the Week is sophomore Rose Coats of the women's cross country team. 

At the NCAA Cross Country National Championship race, Rose Coats turned in one of the best performances in program history as she finished 61^st overall with a time of 20 minutes, 18.5. Coats individual finish was the third best overall in program history and the best since Rosalind Taylor placed ninth in the 1988 National Championship (then a 5,000 meter race). Her performance on Saturday was also the best time for any Terp on a 6K National Championship course. Coats, who earned NCAA All-Region honors last week, became the sixth Terp in program history to qualify for the NCAA Championship and the first since Emily Bracher in 2018.
