LAS VEGAS, NV -- Eight wrestlers from Maryland competed at the U.S. Open in Las Vegas from April 23-27 in the U20 Championships.
AJ Rodrigues had a strong showing winning five of his seven matches, advancing to the Round of 64 at 74kg.
Michael Pizzuto also showed strong winning three times at 65kg, getting to the Round of 32.
Other Terps who won multiple matches on the weekend were
Alex Uryniak at 74kg,
Abram Cline at 57kg and
Oscar Williams at 125kg.
Tyler Garvin win once at 57kg. Also competing for the Terps were
Mekhi Neal at 70kg and Presden Sanchex at 57kg.

Ethan Laird also wrestled in the Senior Level and advanced to the Quarterfinals with a 7-3 decision over Massome Endene.
