May 27, 1998

COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- Goalie Kevin Healy, the 1998 Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year, added to his accolade list when he was among eight Maryland lacrosse players named to the STX/United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-American team. Healy had earned first team All-ACC and ACC All-Tournament team honors earlier this season.

National finalists Maryland and Princeton topped the All-America lists with eight selections each.

Healy was joined by junior attackman Scott Hochstadt and sophomore midfielder Brian Zeller on the second team. Senior attackmen Matt Hahn and Andrew Whipple were joined by senior midfielder Frank Radin on the third team while senior midfielder Brian Reese, sophomore defender Casey Connor and junior defender Chris Lamy earned honorable mention honors.

Maryland won a school-record 14 games and advanced to the NCAA Championship game for the second consecutive season and third time in the last four years. The Terps won the ACC Tournament championship and were undefeated in five ACC games this season.
