COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Junior Jill Fisher (Huntington, N.Y.) won the floor exercise with a 9.925 as the No. 18 Maryland women's gymnastics team defeated Radford 194.175 - 182.825. Fisher's score is now the highest in school history. Tonight's victory marks the Terrapins 16th consecutive victory over the Highlanders
Sophomore Gillian Cote (Fredericksburg, Va.) dominated on bars, earning a score of 9.900, Cote's score ties the school record on the uneven bars and marks the fourth time Cote has earned a 9.900. Cote also won in vault with a 9.825 and on beam with a 9.775 before winning the all-around with a 38.925.
Maryland controlled every event, earning first, second and third place in everything except beam. Senior co-captain Rachel Dolbin (Pottsville, Pa.) and sophomore Laura Moon (Scottsdale, Ariz.) wrapped up the all-around with a 38.825 and a 38.625, respectively.
Maryland will meet up with the Radford once again on Sunday afternoon in Radford, Va. The meet will be at 2:00 in Peters Gymnasium.
