RALEIGH, N.C. - Sophomore Mike Prada (Fulton, Md.) was the top finisher for the men's cross country team as Maryland ran to a sixth place finish out of 11 teams at the Wolfpack Invitational at North Carolina State today. Maryland's men's team finished with a score of 195 after Prada finished the 7,400 meter run in 28th place with a time of 25:08.00.
N.C. State took first place after David Patterson and Dean Bowker came in first and second place, respectively, with times of 23:38.00 and 23:40.00. Freshman Francis Ciganek (Chestertown, Md.) was Maryland's next finisher behind Prada, in 34th place with a time of 25:24.00.
In the women's 5,224 meter run, junior Meghan White (Cockeysville, Md.) led the Terps (186) to a seventh place finish after coming in seventh with a time of 19:33.00. Senior Kelly Crowley (Levittown, Md.) finished in 29th with a time of 20:31.00. N.C. State was also the victor in the women's race, led by Beth Fonner (18:40.00) in first place and Kate Sabino (18:50.00) in second.
Next week, Maryland will stay at hom to host the Maryland Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 23 at 10 a.m.
