The Friendly Confines Of Shipley Field
* Maryland baseball has called Shipley Field home since 1965, and in 2002, the Terrapins are off to one of their best starts ever at home. The Terps are 14-3 this season at Shipley.

* All-time, the Terrapins have played excellent baseball in front of the home crowd at Shipley. The Terps are 434-250-6 (.638) all-time at Shipley and have had just four losing seasons in 38 seasons of baseball at the friendly confines.

Maryland's New Hit King: Matt Swope
* Senior Matt Swope (New Carrollton, Md.) became Maryland's leader in career hits in the Terps' 14-3 victory over William & Mary. Swope went 3-for-6 vs. the Tribe to break Scott Patterson's (1985-88) record of 214 hits. After adding another two hits vs. Temple. Swope now has 219 over his brilliant four-year career.

* Swope is also nearing another milestone, needing just one more run scored to become the school's all-time leader.

McCurdy Looking To Become Maryland's First 20/20 Player
* John McCurdy is putting together one of the finest seasons in Maryland baseball history and is on the verge of becoming the school's first player to have at least 15 home runs in a season along with 15 stolen bases i nthe same campaign. McCurdy leads the Terps in both home runs (14) and steals (16-for-17).

McCurdy also needs just one more home run and just five hits to move into the school's top 10 single-season lists for both categories.
