Georgia Tech head coach Agnus Berenato
On Maryland:
"This is probably their best all-around game. They're coming together as a team."
On Delvona Oliver:
"They're a totally different team with her in there. She's a big, strong girl and she gives them a whole different look."
On Terri Daniels's three-point shots:
"They were daggers. They both happened at critical times. She hit one out of a timeout, it was a four point game and that was a dagger, it went from a four point game to seven."
Head coach Brenda Frese
On the team's first ACC win:
"What a great way for us to open up our first ACC game at home. Every single player was ready to play at the tip and it was the first time in a long time that we played for 40 minutes. It's great to see us play with the confidence we played with today."
On the team's ball-handling and lack of turnovers:
"We learned some valuable lessons from our losses from Miami and NC State. We executed to perfection; it was as close to a perfect game as I can remember in a long time. Georgia Tech beat Georgia, who is in the Top 25, and this win should give us a ton of confidence to step up and play with anyone."
On center Delvona Oliver's game:
"Del's given us a great inside presence. It's difficult to defend us when she can throw the ball inside, she's aggressive and can make plays. When teams double and triple team her, we can get great shots for Terri Daniels and our shooters to step up and shoot the ball."
On Oliver's work ethic:
"She's had to do a lot of work conditioning-wise and to see how far she's come from the minute she stepped on campus is exciting. All she's done is work both in the classroom off the court to get herself in shape to play the kind of minutes we need her to play. We're lucky that she was this hungry and wanted to help this team."
On senior guard Terri Daniels's performance:
"She's stepped up in back to back games and kept us being competitive. She's one of our best passers but we need her to both shoot and pass."
On sophomore point guard Anesia Smith:
"She gave us a tremendous presence tonight. When she steps out on the floor and plays with confidence, she really runs our team effectively. She continues to keep getting better and better because she's very coachable and she did a great job running offense for us and making smart decisions."
Center Delvona Oliver
On sitting out during the first semester:
"It was very frustrating. It was killing me softly because I really wanted to get out there and play with my teammates."
