COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland women's gymnastics team defeated Rutgers, 195.750-193.825, Saturday night at Comcast Center for its 12th win of the season. Freshman Rachel Martinez tied for the school record in the all-around with a 39.625. As a team, the Terps set a new school all-time beam record, a 49.500, surpassing the 49.425 set at the EAGL Championships in 1999.

Martinez recorded a 9.9 on the vault, a 9.875 on the bars, a 9.9 on the beam and a 9.950 on the floor. The 9.9 on the beam is Martinez's career high, while her 9.95 mark on the floor ties Martinez for the fifth highest score in school history.

Maryland is 2-1 against Towson this season, having defeated the Tigers at the Bahamas Breeze Invitational and at a quad meet on Feb.22.
