COLLEGE PARK, Md. -
The University of Maryland baseball team's annual scout day is scheduled for 3 p.m. Tuesday at Shipley Field.
Maryland's draft-eligible players will take batting practice, infield-outfield practice, run a 60-yard dash and play a nine-inning game in front of professional baseball scouts. All draft-eligible pitchers will pitch in the game.
The event is open to scouts only.
The draft-eligible Terps include the likes of third baseman Mike Murphy, outfielder AJ Casario, starting pitcher Scott Swinson, as well as infielders Will Greenberg and Jensen Pupa, among others.
Murphy established himself as one of the best power hitters in the Atlantic Coast Conference last season, leading the Terps with 13 home runs. Casario was a 27th-round draft pick of the Los Angeles Dodgers out of high school in 2006 and is a five-tool player. Swinson led Maryland pitchers in victories a season ago, including the sixth no-hitter in school history in the season finale at Delaware.
Pupa was the Terps' leading hitter in 2008, batting .322. Greenberg hit .304 last season.
The Terps conclude the fall season with the Red-Black World Series Friday Oct. 31 through Sunday, Nov. 2. The team will be split in two and play a best 2-of-3 series.
The games are open to the public with game times scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday.
