Relihan, Glover Win ACC Weekly Awards

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Maryland pulled a clean sweep this week as Ginny Glover and Andrew Relihan won their respective ACC Swimmer of the Week awards, announced by the league office Tuesday.

Glover won the 100-yard backstroke (56.40) and the 500-yard freestyle (4:56.53) to guide the Terps to a sweep of Towson (184.5-115.5) and UMBC (214.5-85.5). Her backstroke time of 56.40 is the fourth-best mark in the league this season, while her freestyle time is the 10th best. Additionally, the Ellicott City, Md., native helped the 200-yard medley relay team take first place in a time of 1:46.75, while her 400-yard freestyle relay team finished second in 3:28.13.

Relihan won the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 1:51.73, and came in second in the 100-yard breaststroke (58.55) and the 200-yard individual medley (1:53.57) as the Terrapins split a tri-meet with in-state foes Towson (225-69) and UMBC (148-152). The Brookeville, Md., native's 1:53.57 performance in the 200-yard individual medley ranks as the 10th-best time in the ACC this season. Relihan also helped the 200-yard medley relay team to a second-place showing in a time of 1:35.26.

Both the Maryland men's and women's teams will return to action on Thursday, November 19 for the three-day Terrapin Cup at the Eppley Recreation Center in College Park, Md.
