The Maryland men's swimming and diving team put on a show Thursday in day one of the 2009 Terrapin Cup at Eppley Recreation Natatorium.
The Terrapin men lead the three-day event with 331 points after Maryland registered a flurry of first-place finishes Thursday.
The Terps kicked off Thursday night's finals with a win in the 200 free relay (1:22.34) courtesy of Mitch Challacombe, Ryan Greene, Andy Mears and Sean Stewart. Maryland followed that with a clean sweep in the 500 free as Chris Rouchard (4:27.53), Brian Honore (4:28.32) and Nick Evans (4:28.93) went 1, 2, 3, respectively.
The streak of top finishes continued with a reigning ACC Swimmer of the Week Andrew Relihan winning the 200 IM (1:50.96) and Challacombe capturing the 50 free (20.48). Ryan Greene also had a solid 50 free swim, finishing fourth (21.08).
The Terps ended the night with a win in the 400 medley relay as the Challacombe, Relihan, Damjanic and Greene touched the wall at 3:20.46.
Maryland returns for day two of the 2009 Terrapin Cup at 10 a.m. Friday morning.

Fans are asked to prepare for heavy traffic due to the Maryland men's basketball game Friday night. Parking is available in the Stadium Drive Parking Garage or at metered spots in front of Eppley Recreation Center.
