Baseball Plays Host to Mount St. Mary's, Travels to UMBC this Week

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland baseball team plays a pair of in-state opponents in non-conference action this week, playing host to Mount St. Mary's at 7 p.m. Tuesday and traveling to UMBC for a 7 p.m. matchup Wednesday.

The Terrapins (15-20) are unbeaten against teams from the state of Maryland this season, winning all six games.

Tuesday's matchup against Mount St. Mary's is the only meeting between the Terps and Mountaineers this year. Maryland took the only meeting last season and is 11-1 in the all-time series. The Mountaineers are 13-14 this year.

Wednesday's game at UMBC concludes the annual home-and-home series between the Terps and Retrievers. Maryland won the previous meeting, 8-1, March 25 at Shipley Field. The Terps are 32-13-1 in the all-time series and have won the last five games between the two schools.

The Retrievers are struggling this season, coming into the week with a 5-22 record with losses in 14 of their last 15 games.

A.J. Casario leads the Terps offensively, owning the team lead in batting average (.339), slugging percentage (.559), on-base percentage (.437), runs (30) and total bases (71).
