Maryland junior Alexsander Damjanic has been tabbed an ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District selection, as announced by CoSIDA late last week.
The junior from Serbia, Croatia excelled both in the pool and in the classroom this season, managing a 3.93 while majoring in international business and smashing numerous Terp swimming records.
Damjanic, who was named to the first team in District II, established new school records in the 100 fly (47.64) and 200 fly (1:45.88) while assisting in three record-setting relays as the 800 free (6:34.02), 200 medley (1:27.81) and 400 medley (3:14.82) all marked new Maryland-bests at the 2009 ACC Championships in College Park.
Damjanic is now eligible to be named a CoSIDA Academic All-American, with national balloting beginning Wednesday, May 27.
