The University of Maryland is proud to announce that five of its student-athletes have been selected to the 2009-10 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Swimming and Diving Academic Team.
Seniors Alex Damjanic and Ryan Greene and junior Mitchell Challacombe were picked from the men's team and junior Annie Fittin and sophomore Alexa Hamilton were selected from the women's.
Two of Maryland's five student-athletes to be honored are making repeat appearances on the team as it is the second consecutive for Challacombe and the third-in-a-row for Damjanic.
An academic team honoree for the first time, junior Annie Fittin was also selected to the 2010 All-ACC team for her performance in the pool this season.
To be eligible for consideration on the All-ACC team, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained at least a 3.00 cumulative average during his or her academic career.
