GREENSBORO, N.C. - Maryland sophomore John Hauser has been named the ACC Swimming & Diving Men's Performer of the Week, announced by the conference on Tuesday.

Hauser swept his freestyle events Saturday to help Maryland pick up its first win of the year against defending America East champion UMBC. The Pottstown, Pa., native touched the wall first in the 50 free (20.65), 100 free (45.90), and 200 free (1:39.88) and also took part in the winning 200 medley relay (1:31.28).

Hauser joins teammate Megan Lafferty who garnered the weekly award on the women's side.

Maryland plays host to the annual Terp Cup Thursday-Saturday at Eppley Recreation Natatorium. Preliminaries begin at 10 a.m. each day with finals kicking off at 6 p.m.
