COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland swimming and diving will play host to the annual three-day Terp Cup beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday at Eppley Recreation Natatorium.

The Terrapin women notched another win this season after trumping UMBC its last time in the pool. Maryland is 3-1 overall, including a 2-1 mark in ACC play, in 2011.

The Terps picked up their first weekly conference award winner of the season as Megan Lafferty garnered ACC Performer of the Week honors Tuesday. The native of Willow, Grove, Pa., won the 50 free and 100 fly and swam the second and third leg, respectively, on the winning 200 medley and 200 free relays.

Maryland's men's unit captured its first win of the season with a defeat of defending America East champion UMBC last weekend. The Terps also recorded their first conference honor of the season as John Hauser was named ACC Performer of the Week. The Pottstown, Pa., native touched the wall first in the 50 free, 100 free, and 200 free and also took part in the winning 200 medley relay against the Retrievers.

Other teams participating in this year's Terp Cup include Richmond (women), West Chester University, William and Mary, Towson, Johns Hopkins and North Carolina State. Preliminaries begin at 10 a.m. with finals starting at 6 p.m. daily.
