2013 Maryland Indoor Track Schedule

Save Men's Track

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland track and field coach Andrew Valmon announced the team's 2013 indoor schedule Wednesday. Valmon, who also served as the head coach of Team USA at this past summer's London Olympics, will work with his staff on preparing the Terps for conference and national competition.

The Terps will compete in five meets before readying themselves for two postseason championships.

To start the season, Maryland travels to Penn State on January 11th and 12th to compete in the Nittany Lion Challenge where they hope to continue their success from last season. Last year, the Terps recorded a win in four individual events and had four of the top five finishers in women's high jump.

After a full week of practice, the Terps will have their first home meet on January 19th. The Maryland Invitational, which will take place in Landover, Md., saw both the men's and women's teams capture overall team titles last season.

Maryland closes out the regular season with three road meets. They will travel to New York on January 26th for the Night at the Armory meet, followed by trips to Chapel Hill, N.C. (Feb. 1-2) and Blacksburg, Va. (Feb. 8-9).

"We are looking forward to a competitive indoor season," Valmon said. "Our meet schedule will prepare us to peak at the ACC Championships and hopefully to hit some NCAA qualifying marks along the way."

After the regular season wraps, the Terps will have two weeks to prepare for the ACC Championships, which will take place February 21-23 in Blacksburg, Va.

The NCAA Championships are set for March 8-9 in Fayetteville, Ark.
