COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland gymnastics team tallied season-bests 49.125 on floor and 48.950 on bars to finish with a season-high 194.550 Saturday night at the Comcast Center in quad meet against 22nd-ranked West Virginia, Rutgers and William and Mary.

Maryland's score on floor was a meet high and is tied for the 20th-best score in program history (3/20/10, vs. Auburn, George Washington and Yale). The Terps' (8-6, 3-3 EAGL) team total placed them second behind the Mountaineers who won the meet with 194.800.

"When you lose a close one to a conference rival, it always hurts," said head coach Brett Nelligan. "I was happy the way we finished and I am pleased with the way the girls worked hard throughout the meet."

Sophomore Katy Dodds and junior Ally Krikorian placed first and second, respectively, on floor with each tying a personal best. After Krikorian scored a 9.850 for the third time in the last five meets, Dodds concluded the evening with a 9.875 to win the event. Including her first-place finish on vault from earlier in the meet, it marks her fifth individual first-place finish of the season.

No Terp gymnast finished with a score below 9.700 on bars. Dodds, junior Kesley Cofsky and sophomore Elizabethe Manzi all tied career highs. Cofsky and sophomore Karen Tang tied for fourth with a 9.825. Manzi finished with a 9.800 and Dodds recorded a 9.775.

""Bars has been great the last two weeks. After the trip to Florida, we really focused on improving our bars and I think we have. The way we finished on floor tonight was unbelievable as well," Nelligan said.

On beam, Krikorian posted a career-high 9.775 to finish in a tie for second with freshman Stephanie Giameo. The Roselle Park, N.J., native has scored a 9.775 or better on the apparatus in three of the last four meets.

Next week, the Terps head to the west coast to face California and San Jose State on Friday, Feb. 24 at 10 p.m. ET.
