COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland gymnastics team scored a season-high 194. 475 to edge North Carolina (193.125) and Bowling Green State (191.500) Sunday afternoon at Comcast Center. The Terps (6-4, 2-1 EAGL) scored season highs on vault and floor to secure the victory.

Junior Ally Krikorian and sophomore Katy Dodds stole the show. Krikorian won gold on vault with a season-high 9.925 missing her career high by 0.025, and finished second on floor tying her career-high 9.850. Dodds won on floor by scoring a personal-best 9.875, and took the silver on vault by tying her career-high 9.900.

"I thought it was a great performance," said head coach Brett Nelligan. "I liked our preparation this week in the gym. I liked our focus. All of the hard work they put in during the week really showed."

Freshman Stephanie Giameo won on beam with a 9.825 while just missing the medal stand on floor with a 9.800, tying her career high.

"Steph had an incredible meet getting us started on beam and floor the way she did really help set the tone for us," Nelligan said.

Junior Kesley Cofsky scored a season-high 38.950 in the all-around to take second place. On beam, Cofsky tied a personal-best 9.800 to finish in a tie for third and set a career high on vault by scoring a 9.750.

"It was good for [Kesley] to get back into the all-around," said Nelligan. "She really worked really hard and it's well deserved."

The Terps performance on floor delighted the Comcast Center crowd. Giameo led off for the Terps and tied her career high. Krikorian and Dodds turned in career performances to secure Maryland's highest score on floor this season (48.925).

Krikorian and Dodds helped the Terps score a season-high 48.900 on vault to begin the meet. Dodds stuck her landing to tie her season high. But not to be outdone, Krikorian closed the event with her best performance of the season. Both gymnasts were 0.025 shy of their career highs. Cofsky's career day placed her eighth.

Said Nelligan, "We really focused this week on elevating our vaults and hitting the landings and really focused on the presentation on floor. We know we have good stuff, but we need to present it well. Katy and Ally just explosive, incredible vaults and the whole lineup on floor was pretty impressive."

Cofsky took top honors for Maryland on bars. The Walpole, Mass., native scored a 9.700 to finish fourth as the Terps totaled 48.000 on the apparatus. Sophomores Elizabethe Manzi and Jessie Black were the next-best finishers for Maryland.

Freshman Stephanie Giameo turned in an outstanding performance on beam to share the event title with Bowling Green's Jamilah Ali. Giameo's 9.825 is just shy of her career high by 0.025.

The Terps will travel to Chapel Hill next week to face the Tar Heels in a dual meet on Friday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m.
