Leading Off...
• The Terrapin offense combined for 31 hits in the last two games to lead the team to a 6-4 victory over then-No. 12 Miami last Sunday and a 16-4 win over St. John's on Wednesday. The win over the Red Storm was the Terps' largest margin of victory this year, and the 16 hits, 16 runs and 12 RBIs were also season highs.

• Last Sunday, Maryland's outfield accounted for 11 of its 15 hits. Korey Wacker became the first Terrapin since 2007 to have five hits in a game, Jordan Hagel had his second four-hit game of the year and Michael Montville had two. In Wednesday's win, it was a much more balanced effort. Eleven Terrapins had at least one hit and five had multiple hits: Hagel, Kyle Convissar, Ryan Holland, K.J. Hockaday and Alfredo Rodriguez. Rodriguez also blasted a 3-run home run and had four RBIs. The senior now has a team-high 19 on the season.

• Hockaday continues to lead the team with a .352 batting average that ranks 12th in the ACC and first among freshmen. In conference games he's been even better, with a .406 mark that is tied for fourth in the league. Hagel (.308) and Convissar (.307) have also been above or around .300 most of the year.

Brett Harman will move up one day in the starting rotation this weekend and pitch on Saturday. The senior ranks sixth in the conference with a 1.88 ERA and earned his fourth win of the year last weekend with six innings against the 12th-ranked Hurricanes. Though he allowed a career-high tying 11 hits, he surrendered only four runs and held Miami scoreless in the fifth and sixth as the Terps took the lead.

Brady Kirkpatrick will remain in his Friday role, while Sunday's starter has yet to be determined. One option could be Michael Boyden, who is fourth in the ACC with a 1.67 ERA and 11th nationally allowing just 4.67 hits/9 innings.

Scouting Boston College...
• A week removed from earning its first ACC series win of the season against No. 14 Georgia Tech, Boston College is 10-14 overall with a 2-7 ACC mark. The Eagles have won five of their last seven games since dropping 10 games in a row earlier in the season.

• Offensively, the Eagles are led by senior shortstop Anthony Melchionda and sophomore center fielder Tom Bourdon, batting .340 and .336 respectively. Melchionda was named ACC Player of the Week on March 26 after hitting .421 and batting in seven runs. Bourdon leads Boston College with six home runs.

• The Eagles starting rotation consists of three right-handers in Eric Stevens, Hunter Gordon and Taylor Lasko. Gordon had the strongest outing last weekend, pitching 7 2/3 innings while allowing only three runs. Stevens allowed six earned in 5 2/3 innings and Lasko gave up two earned in four innings.

Series history: Maryland trails the all-time series with Boston College, 6-14. The Eagles won two of three in College Park last year and in Chestnut Hill in 2010.

Upcoming...
• Maryland wraps up its eight-game road trip this weekend, and is then home for 14 of 18 games in the month of April. The Terps play 10 straight at home starting with mid-week games against George Mason on Tuesday and Bucknell on Wednesday of next week.
