COLLEGE PARK, Md. - As classes are set to start this week and members of the Maryland baseball team make their way back to campus, summer wooden-bat leagues around the country have come to a close. Several Terrapins made an impact on the summer circuit.

Rising senior Jordan Hagel and rising sophomore K.J. Hockaday caught the attention of summer league observers including Perfect Game USA. The website named Hagel to its list of top performers in the New England Collegiate Baseball League, while Hockaday was named to its list of top performers in the Cal Ripken League.

While the Terps ready themselves for the 2013 season, here is a rundown of how they fared over the summer.

Cape Cod League

- Kyle Convissar (Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox) helped the Red Sox to a second-place finish in the Eastern Division. The Severna Park, Md., native batted .273 with a .500 on-base percentage in eight appearances for the squad.

- Rising junior Tim Kiene (Cotuit Kettleers), who led the Terps with six home runs in 2012, finished the summer with a .271 batting average and 12 RBI in 16 games with the Kettleers. Kiene helped the Kettleers to the Western Division regular season title. Kiene was named to Perfect Game USA Top Prospects List as the 91st-ranked prospect in the Cape Cod League.

- Brady Kirkpatrick (Brewster Whitecaps) made five starts for the Whitecaps and posted a 3.51 ERA with 20 strikeouts in 33-1/3 innings pitched.

- Michael Montville (Orleans Firebirds) hit seven home runs for the Firebirds over the summer, which ranked second on the team and 11th in the CCBL. The rising junior notched 14 RBI and ranked third on the team with a .447 slugging percentage.

- Jimmy Reed (Orleans Firebirds) totaled a team-high 40-2/3 innings in eight appearances, all starts, for the Firebirds and struck out a team leading 43 batters while yielding only 11 walks. The Gaithersburg, Md., native finished the summer with a 3.32 ERA which was second on the squad for pitchers who made three or more starts.

Cal Ripken League

- Matt Bosse (Baltimore Redbirds) appeared in five games for the league champions and batted .150 with one home run and six RBI.

- Named to the all-star roster, rising sophomore K.J. Hockaday (Youse's Orioles) had a tremendous summer. The Joppa, Md., native was named to the Perfect Game USA CRCBLtop performer list after finishing the summer ranked in the league's top 10 in batting average and RBI. Hockaday hit .346 with 11 doubles, a triple, a home run and 36 RBI. He also stole six bases.

- Anthony Papio (Alexandria Aces) enjoyed a strong summer campaign with the Aces. Papio batted .284 with four doubles, four home runs and 24 RBI to earn a spot on the all-star roster. In addition, he ranked second on the team with a .451 on-base percentage.

New England Collegiate Baseball League

- Ben Brewster (Danbury Westerners) made 10 appearances for the Westerners and five starts this summer. In 27-1/3 innings, Brewster posted three wins and finished with a 3.62 ERA and 22 strikeouts to help the squad to a second-place finish in the NECBL and a spot on the all-star team. Brewster was named to Perfect Game USA Top Prospects List as the 29th-ranked prospect in the NECBL.

- Jordan Hagel (Sanford Mainers) followed up an impressive 2012 season with an equally impressive summer. He batted .356 with eight doubles, a triple, four home runs and 21 RBI, which earned him a spot on the NECBL second team, the NECBL all-star roster, and Perfect Game USA top performer list. He also recorded seven stolen bases.

- Jake Stinnett (Danbury Westerners) served as the club's closer helping the Westerners reach the NECBL title game. In 13 appearances, Stinnett totaled five saves and posted a 1.56 ERA with 19 strikeouts. Stinnett was named to Perfect Game USA Top Prospects List as the 16th-ranked prospect in the NECBL.

- Charlie White (Newport Gulls) was a key cog in the Gulls march to the NECBL championship. White batted .365, second best on the team, with five doubles, two home runs and 10 RBI along with swiping six bases.

Prospect League

- Jamie Pashuck (Danville Dans) appeared in 15 games and made one start for the Dans. In 29-1/3 innings, Pashuck posted a 3.99 ERA while striking out 29 batters.

- Bobby Ruse (Danville Dans) made five starts for the club and struck out 17 batters in 19-2/3 innings.

Hamptons League

- Robert Galligan (North Fork Ospreys) made 10 appearances for the Ospreys and pitched 9-1/3 innings while striking out 11. Galligan also recorded a save.

Coastal Plain League

- A Coastal Plain League all-star, Andrew Amaro (Peninsula Pilots) was one of the Pilots top offensive performers this summer. Amaro led the team with a .303 batting average with three doubles and 20 RBI. Amaro's impact was felt mostly on base. The Bensalem, Pa., native stole 19 bases on 23 attempts earning him a spot on the second team postseason all-star team. Amaro was recognized as a top performer in the Coastal Plain League by Perfect Game USA.
