The University of Maryland gymnastics team has been selected to finish second in the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) preseason poll released Saturday. Votes were submitted by each head coach from the league's eight member schools.
The Terps received one first-place vote and finished with 39 points, five points clear of third-place New Hampshire.
Maryland has finished third in the EAGL the past two seasons and has advanced to the NCAA Regionals the last four seasons. The Terps return 2012 All-EAGL First Team members Katy Dodds, Ally Krikorian and Karen Tang.
NC State, which is ranked 22nd nationally in the 2013 GymInfo Women's Preseason Coaches Poll, was picked to finish first. The Wolfpack received seven first-place votes.
Maryland opens the 2013 season in Raleigh on Friday at 7 p.m.
