Update (Nov. 24): The Winter Workout Clinic has reached full capacity. All new applicants will be placed on a wait list and notified if their status has changed.
COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- The Maryland Gymnastics program announced the date for its annual Winter Workout clinic on Tuesday. Set to take place on Tuesday, December 30, 2014, the clinic is open to beginner level gymnasts through level 10 and Elite gymnasts, ages seven to 18. The camp is hosted at the Maryland Gymnastics Training Facility located in the School of Public Health building on the campus of the University of Maryland.
The one-day clinic is designed to teach campers the fundamentals of gymnastics and meet the needs of each individual gymnast in attendance. Rotations of vault, bars, beam, floor, trampoline, strength, dance and flexibility will be included. Current staff and members of the Maryland Gymnastics team will provide the instruction for the event.
In previous years, the program has welcomed over 100 plus local, national and international gymnasts to the annual clinic including over 20 plus Level 10 gymnasts. Maryland Gymnastics also hosts a variety of summer gymnastics camps as well.
Due to the popularity of the clinic, it is advised to register early, as spots are limited and tend to be filled quickly.
The Winter Workout clinic is $145 per participant and all participants will receive a special Maryland Gymnastics Under Armour t-shirt. Check-in for the event starts at 9 a.m. with workouts beginning at 10 a.m. and running through 4 p.m.
For participants that would prefer to stay overnight in the College Park area, the Holiday Inn College Park is offering group rates.
