COLLEGE PARK, Md.  – Maryland high jumper Amber Melville earned Big Ten Field Athlete of the Week honors, the league announced Monday.

Competing in front of a home crowd at the Terrapin Invitational, Melville jumped 6-01.25 to win the event and tie her personal indoor best. Melville is now tied with Cincinnati's Erika Hurd for the top mark in the nation this year. The senior's previous season best came at the Penn State Relays where she jumped 5-11.25.

Maryland has now captured the last two Field Athlete of the Week awards. Senior Thea LaFond captured the honor with her performance at the Penn State Relays.

Cindy Ofili of Michigan won the Track Athlete of the Week award.
