COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland sophomore second baseman Brandon Lowe was named a D1Baseball.com preseason All-American, the site announced Tuesday.
Lowe is a member of the third team after a standout redshirt freshman season. The Suffolk, Va., native was selected as a Baseball American and Perfect Game first-team Freshman All-American after leading the Terps in batting average (.348), slugging (.464), on-base percentage (.464) and triples (3).
A third-team All-ACC honoree, Lowe was a member of the Louisville Slugger Freshmen All-American team and a second team Freshmen All-American selection by the NCBWA. He is expected to be a key cog in the Terps' efforts this season.
