COLLEGE PARK, Md. - After a record setting season, the Maryland baseball team will contest its second straight NCAA Tournament at UCLA in the Los Angles Regional. The third-seeded Terrapins open with SEC power, second-seeded Ole Miss, at 7 p.m. ET at Jackie Robinson Stadium.

• After a 39-win season, Maryland earned at No. 3 seed in the Los Angeles Regional. The Terrapins are joined by host and No. 1 overall seed UCLA, second-seeded Ole Miss and fourth-seeded CSU Bakersfield. Maryland has won seven of its last 10 postseason games dating back to last year.
• Maryland's 36 regular season victories was a school record. The Terrapins are just one victory away from tying their all-time record for single season wins set just last season (40).
• The Terrapins fell just short of its first conference title since 1971, dropping the Big Ten final to Michigan. Maryland snapped Illinois' nation best 27-game winning streak in the second round of the tournament.
• Sophomore right-handed pitcher Mike Shawaryn has put together one of the finest seasons for a hurler in school history. Shawaryn holds a Big Ten best 12-2 record, a 1.65 ERA and a conference-high 124 strikeouts. Shawaryn's 12 wins is a single season school record.
• Shawaryn was recentely named a Dick Hower Award and USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award semifinalist. He was an unanimous selection for the All-Big Ten First Team. Shawaryn recently accepted an invitation to join the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team. He is just the second Terrapin to ever play for the United States.
• Sophomore second baseman Brandon Lowe ranks among the best hitters in the Big Ten. A first team All-Big Ten selection, Lowe leads the conference in total bases (132), and is fourth in RBIs (52), slugging percentage (.564) and on-base percentage (.442).
• Junior catcher Kevin Martir, a Johnny Bench Award semifinalist, is in the top-15 in the conference in average (.330), slugging (.495) and OBP (.428). Martir's 42 RBIs 11th in the conference and he has seven home runs. He was named to the All-Big Ten Third Team.
• Junior Jose Cuas earned All-Big Ten Second Team honors. Cuas' 11 home runs and 53 RBIs both rank third in the Big Ten. The Brooklyn, N.Y., native is seventh in the conference in runs scored (49) and served as a steady presence on the hot corner throughout the year.
• Kevin Mooney notched three saves at the Big Ten Tournament and now has a school record 30 for his career. The record was previously held by Brett Cecil. Mooney broke the record with a save against Minnesota on March 21.
