The Maryland Women's Tennis team drops to 1-5 on the season with a 6-1 loss to Harvard on Saturday at the Murr Center.
Maryland notched their single point in doubles play, opening the match with No.2 Arnelle Sullivan and Ekaterina Tour defeating Harvard's Erica Oosterhout and June Lee, 6-3. The match that sealed the doubles point came from Maryland duo Nataliya Bredikhina and Caroline Williams topping Nikki Kallenberg and Isabel Jasper, 6-4.
Harvard ran away with a sweep in Singles play. On court one, June Lee defeated Sullivan—the match ended with a close tie breaker and final scores of 6-7(8), 7-6(1),11-9. On court two, Kallenger came up stronger against Maryland's Alexandra Stanova ,6-3,6-1.
The Terps were not able to hit their stride with Annika Ringblom defeating N. Bredikhina 6-3,5-7 and 6-2. Hovsepyan falling to Erica Oosterhout 4-6,6-2 and 7-6(2).
Sabrina Xiong and Amy He completed the sweep for Harvard by edging out Tour 6-2,6-1, and Williams , 6-0,5-7 and 6-4.
Maryland will finish their trip to Boston this Sunday at 11 am, when they face Boston University.
