Terps Earn Season High on Floor at B1G Championships

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Maryland gymnastics team posted its highest team score on floor of the season at the Big Ten Championships Saturday. The Terps finished fourth in the early session with a 194.025.

Senior Kathy Tang was named to the all-championship team at the end of the evening event. Michigan earned the Big Ten Championship title with a 197.125.

The Terrapins finished the event on floor, where the team earned a season-high 49.200. Junior Leah Slobodin led off with a 9.775 and freshman Megan McClelland posted a 9.800. Junior Emily Brauckmuller earned a 9.825 before freshman Macey Roberts and junior Abbie Epperson posted back-to-back 9.850s. Tang anchored with a 9.875, including 9.900s from two judges.

Maryland began the meet on vault, where the team tallied a 48.525. Junior Sarah Faller, sophomore Dominiquea Trotter, sophomore Evelyn Nee and Roberts all earned 9.700s on the apparatus. Tang posted a 9.725 in the event.

Epperson led the Terps on bars, where the team scored a 48.625, with a 9.825. Nee scored a 9.725 while McClelland earned a 9.750.

The team faltered on beam, posting a 47.675. Nee put up a strong showing with a 9.800 and Epperson scored a 9.675.
