Tumble Talk: Sarah Faller

Hey Terp Fans!

The GymTerps have returned to College Park after a jam-packed weekend of competing. Sunday's quad meet against GW marked our 4th meet in nine days! After Monday's meet against Penn State, we were right back to competing on Friday at The University of New Hampshire where the GymTerps hit 24 for 24 routines for the second time in a row! Although the judges scoring didn't exactly go the way we wanted them to, we still knew that we did a great job competing as a team and put all our focus into the meet against George Washington (that was only about 36 hours away).

We rested our bodies on Saturday and flew back to College Park from UNH, and then we were up bright and early for the quad meet at 1 on Sunday!

By 11:00 am, warm-ups were underway. Our rotation was bars, beam, floor, vault and we were up against Towson, Rutgers, and host George Washington. After a successful warmup, the GymTerps taped up, put on their beautiful gold leos, added some glitter, and began the competition. From the second I landed my bar dismount and my teammates cheering exploded around me, I knew this would be a high-energy night. Event after event, we fed off of the loud energy of the arena and made routine after routine, as a family. We even had some of our Terp Alumni and parents in the crowd too! After our amazing beam and bars rotation, it was time to throw a party on floor and vault and finish the meet off strong. And the GymTerps did just that. Not only did we achieve our highest event score of the season (49.175) but we also finished the meet with an overall score of 196.025! To achieve that high of a score on the road, to have multiple Terps tie or achieve new career highs, hit 24 for 24 routines for the third time in a row, AND get a road win over Rutgers and Towson, we were so incredibly happy. Finishing the weekend off on a high note was exactly what we wanted to do and we can't wait to keep the momentum going for the rest of the season!

Catch us at our LAST home meet of the season this upcoming Sunday March 6th to honor our graduating seniors!

GO TERPS!
