COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland women's tennis team was victorious at home, on senior day, over the Colonials of George Washington, 7-0. The Terps move to 9-10 for the 2016 season and 5-4 in Big Ten play.
Doubles play saw the No.86 Maryland duo, Alexandra Stanova and Kristina Hovsepyan defeat Allison Hansen and Taylor Nederlander in the top position, 6-3. The Terps claimed the doubles point with win in the No.2 and No. 3 positions.
In singles action, Maryland continued to play strong with three Terps claiming victories in straight- set wins in the No. 1, 3, 5, and 6 positions
The Terps completed their sweep victory with Stanova defeating Sara Grubac 2-6, 6-4, 6-4, and Hovsepyan taking down Marie-Louise Decamps, 6-2, 3-6, 6-2.
Maryland hits the road next weekend for conference bouts against Minnesota and Wisconsin.
