EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. -- For the second consecutive weekend the Maryland wrestling team placed three wrestlers in an open tournament. 

Idris White (165), Philip Spadafora (165) and Hunter Baxter (141) placed third, fourth and fourth respectively. This was the second-consecutive weekend where White and Spadafora both placed in the 165-pound bracket. Spadafora finished third and White finished fourth at the Princeton Open on Nov. 4. 

White began the open with five consecutive victories before falling to Mike Raccioppi (East Stroudsburg) and earning a third place finish. 

Spadafora had to claw his way back into placing after he dropped his first match of the day. The freshman from Dix Hills, New York, was able to string together three wins in a row en route to his fourth place finish. 

Baxter's placing is the first of his collegiate career. The true freshman fell in his first bout of the weekend before rattling off three consecutive victories. He lost his final match of the weekend but still found his way to a fourth place finish.
