Four Terps Earn Bids to NCAA Regionals

INDIANAPOLIS - Four members of the Maryland gymnastics team earned bids to compete in the 2017 NCAA Regionals, as announced Monday. Senior Sarah Faller, senior Emily Brauckmuller, freshman Alecia Farina and freshman Kirsten Peterman will travel to the Gainesville Regional.

The University of Florida will host the Gainesville Regional on Saturday, April 1, at 4 p.m. at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center.

Faller qualified to compete on vault and balance beam while Brauckmuller will perform on floor. Farina will compete on floor and was named as an alternate on bars. Peterman earned a bid to compete in the all-around.

Faller and Brauckmuller will compete with the first group of individual event specialists while Farina is in the second IES group. Peterman is paired with New Hampshire for the meet.

The top two teams and the top two all-around competitors (who are not on an advancing team) from each region site advances to the NCAA Championships, set for April 14-15 at the Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Mo.

Teams competing in the Gainesville Regional include host Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Missouri, New Hampshire and Penn State.
