Storylines
  • Maryland drew Michigan State on Friday night in East Lansing in a match between two 2018 College Cup participants. Justin Gielen's 78th minute goal leveled the match after the Spartans took the lead late in the second half. The Terps came close to finding the winner before the end of 90 minutes before the match was halted before overtime because the pitch was deemed unplayable.
  • The Terps came back into the United Soccer Coaches top-25 at No. 25 after a pair of victories. Goals from Eli Crognale and Malcolm Johnston propelled the Terps to a 2-0 win over No. 14 Cal State Fullerton at Ludwig Field. It was Maryland's second top-25 win of the season after a previous victory over then No. 9 St. John's.
  • Maryland had previously defeated Rutgers at home to pick up its first Big Ten win of the campaign. Freshman David Kovacic was at the center of proceedings, scoring a pair of second half goals, including the winner.
  • Maryland used a 76th minute goal from junior right back Ben Di Rosa to defeat Villanova, 1-0, on Sept. 16. The goal was the second of Di Rosa's career and helped him earn Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors.
  • Maryland defeated Akron, 1-0, on Sept. 13, matching the scoreline from the team's clash in the national title match last December. Junior Eric Matzelevich's 18th minute strike proved to be the difference as the Terrapins showed well against a quality Zips side.
  • The Terps opened up the season with three consecutive clean sheets at home, the first time Maryland has held opponents scoreless at Ludwig Field to open a season for that long in 20 years.
  • The Terps opened the 2019 season with a 1-0 win over USF at Ludwig Field. Freshman Malcolm Johnston netted the winner off an Eli Crognale assist in the 70th minute. The Terps outshot the Bulls 10-2 during the match. Maryland is now 15-6-6 under Sasho Cirovski in season openers and are undefeated in its last nine (8-0-1) home openers.
  • Cirovski, one of the most decorated coaches in college soccer history, is now seven wins away from 400 at Maryland. Cirovski currently has 419 wins all-time, the sixth-most among active coaches.
B1G Things Poppin'

The tournament will move to Ludwig Field for the two semifinal games on Friday, Nov. 15 and the championship game on Sunday, Nov. 17.
  • Maryland hosted the Big Ten Tournament at Ludwig Field in 2014, the program's first season in the league. The Terps captured the title with a 2-1 win over Indiana in the final.
Bin Wins N4A Wilma Rudolph Award
  • Paul Bin accepted the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals' (N4A) Wilma Rudolph Student-Athlete Achievement Award in June at the N4A Convention Awards Luncheon. The junior forward played a large role on the field in the Terps capturing their fourth national title in program history in 2018, scoring four goals and adding three assists in 21 matches.
  • Joining Bin at the ceremony were his fellow 2019 honorees: Madeline Banic (Tennessee), Noelle Lambert (UMass-Lowell), Maggie Nichols (Oklahoma) and Levi Prater (Oklahoma).
