COLLEGE PARK, Md. — This weekend the Maryland cross country team will compete in the 2019 Big Ten Championships in Columbus, Ohio at the Ohio State University Golf Club. Admissions to the race are free and will be broadcasted live on FloTrack. Results of the race will be available here. 

Seniors Brittany Lang and Kathryn Gearhart are taking the B1G championship stage for their fourth year as Terps. As the top finishers for the squad this season, this duo will continue with a steady pace for Maryland. 

Lang has had a stellar senior season, leading the way at both the Paul Short Invitational and the Penn State National competitions this season. Her and Gearhart have been steady training partners, pulling each other to fast times and higher place finishes this season.  

Gearhart has been a consistent performer for the team not only this season, but in the previous two seasons competing as a Terp on 6K cross country courses.

Junior Christine Laurie has improved with each race this season, focusing on an upward trend heading into championships.  Freshmen Anna Coffin and Samantha Facius have also emerged as reliable runners within the Terps' top five, factoring into the overall team scores this season. Transfer, Sarah Daniels has also been a steady force that will be competing within this group of top runners.

Caroline Augelli, Mackenzie Morgan and Julia Reicin have all factored in as assets to the team throughout the season and will be counted on again at the Big Ten Championships.

Maryland will race in its sixth Big Ten Championship Meet since joining the conference in 2014, as it looks to record its best team results yet.

Maryland will return to racing Friday Nov. 15, when they will compete at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championship. This will be their second time competing on the Lehigh 6K course, after competing at the Paul Short Invitational on Oct. 5.
