Earlysville, VA. --The Terps cross country team traveled eight athletes to the Virginia Invitational, hosted by the University of Virginia in Earlysville, VA.
The Terps continued their cross country season, building upon a successful first meet two weeks ago. Maryland's squad continued to impress at the Virginia Invitational, where they would race to a sixth place finish. The team was led by freshman Katie Altieri and senior Sarah Daniels, who raced to 16th and 19th place finishes respectively.

Women's Notes:

Freshman Katie Altieri led the way for the Terps, finishing 16th with a time of 18:14.3, her new collegiate personal record.

Senior Sarah Daniels (18:26.7) had a strong showing for the Terps, finishing in 19th place in her season debut.

Freshman Katie Turk had an impressive second meet, finishing with a time of 19:16.9

Freshman Hannah Mack made her cross country debut with a time of 19:39.5.

Freshman Allison Colflesh competed for the Terps squad, finishing with a time of 20:01.0

Junior Samantha Facius and Sophomore Kirstin Nichols also raced for the Terps in the women's 5K.
Coach's Comments:
"This was our second opportunity to get back out on the cross country course and start getting our feet wet with racing. Each week this young group is learning more as they prepare for things to ramp up in early October."

The Terrapins will travel to Bethlehem, PA on October 1, where they will compete in the Paul Short Run.
