SAN DIEGO, CA- The University of Maryland women's tennis team finished their final day of competition at the ITA Fall National Championships, capping off a great fall slate.
Â
Selma Cadar lost a tough battle against Esha Velaga (UPenn) in the singles consolation quarterfinals. Cadar went 1-2 overall in singles competition.
"Selma had a great bounce back win yesterday against LSU and fell just short today," said Head Coach
Katie Dougherty.
Mary Brumfield and
Selma Cadar went 1-1 overall in doubles competition, falling to a talented Temple doubles team in the main draw round of 16.
"Selma and Mary had a great run to put themselves in a position to qualify for Fall Nationals, they beat a very good UCSB team in the first round and battled against a great Temple team," said Coach Dougherty. "While maybe a little disappointing not winning a couple more matches, the positives are they they've established themselves among the best of the best in college tennis this fall and have great momentum leading into the spring."
