Jaxon Smith Earns A Semifinal Berth On Day One Of The Cliff Keen Invitational

Las Vegas, NV – Six Terps competed on Day One of the Cliff Keen Invitational, highlighted by a semifinal berth for Jaxon Smith.

Smith picked up a pair of hard-fought decisions over Purdue's Ben Vanadia and Northern Iowa's 23rd-ranked Wyatt Voelker to put himself into the quarterfinals. He was slated to face eight-ranked Luke Surber, but a medical forfeit for Surber pushed Smith into the semifinals.

The semifinals will take place tomorrow beginning at 1 pm EST. Smith is slated to face Third-ranked and number one CKLV seed at 197: Tanner Sloan from South Dakota State. Smith has locked up a minimum of fifth place overall. The action can be caught on FloWrestling.
