ON NARED - Looks to be the likely candidate to inherit Maryland's point guard position. has been a great role player for three years, contributing minutes at both the point and off-guard positions... solid, steady player who gets the ball where it needs to be without flash...excels at perimeter defense..., -assesses good fundamental skills. excellent team leader.
As A Junior Played in 14 games, including his first career start which came against Georgia Tech (2/17). had best game of the season against Maryland Eastern Shore, scoring five points, swiping three steals and grabbing a pair of rebounds... though he didn't attempt enough to qualify for conference rankings, he led the team in free throw percentage, hitting seven of eight shots for 87.5 percent accuracy.
AS A SOPHOMORE Set his career high of nine points against James Madison in a relatively unique way, going nine of 10 from the free throw line. had five boards against Wake Forest for his career best in that category. shot 50 percent from three point (three of six) and will no doubt be one of Maryland's long-range threats this year... dished off for four assists against both Clemson and Georgia Tech.
AS A FRESHMAN Played sparingly, seeing action in seven games... scored six points and grabbed five boards in 46 total minutes.
High School Wilmington High School... a two-sport star who was all-state as a senior in both football and basketball...turned down a scholarship offer to play quarterback at Ohio State to accept his hoops scholarship at Maryland... the school's all-time assist leader, setting the career mark as a sophomore. ..entered his senior year listed on numerous preseason All-America teams for both football and basketball... followed that up with mention on many of those same teams at season's end... captain of the South Team in the annual North South All-Star Game.
