ON KALUZIENSKI - Second year walk-on who provides depth at either guard position ... can play either the point or the off guard ... will see most of his action as part of the scout team ... however, depth at guard certainly is a liability for the Terps so he might get pressed into service ... as a freshman in 1985-86, he scrimmaged as part of the Maryland scout team and was a member of the last Terps J.V. squad. Played in four games, averaging a minute and a half an outing ... did not score during the year, missing his only two field goal attempts ... both shots came in a three-minute outing against Maryland-Eastern Shore, his longest playing stretch of the season.
HIGH SCHOOL Crossland High School ... played for current Maryland-Baltimore County coach Earl Hawkins ... played two years on the varsity basketball and a year of varsity baseball ... hoops teammate with Bobby Richardson, who went on to star at UMBC, and Mike Sumner, a starter at American University ... in his senior season, Crossland lost in the state playoffs to Suitland High School, Vince Broadnax's prep team.
